Founded in 2021, Blue Sky Builders represents a merger of two individuals with over sixty years of combined design and construction experience.
 Lance Bowen – LEED AP / CPHB – Worked for regional and national builders as a Project Manager for large residential projects. Also worked as a Purchasing Manager, developing specifications and managed the bidding process for multiple developments. A Licensed Michigan Residential Builder since 1998, Lance started his own Design/Build company, New Harvest Homes, in 2004 with a focus on sustainably built projects. Achieved Certified Passive House Builder credential in 2024. |
 Brian Halprin – M.ARCH / AIA / LEED AP BD+C – Studied History and Architectural History at the University of Michigan, Earned a Masters in Architecture from the University of Illinois – Chicago. Worked for commercial and multi-family Architecture firms, becoming a registered Architect in 1997. Started his own Design/Build companies in 1999 and became a dedicated Green Builder and Architect in 2006 with the founding of Green Building Services pllc. Brian has designed, built and consulted on multiple LEED, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green and Enterprise Green Community certified projects and has earned recognition from the Detroit chapter of the NAHB, Detroit Home Magazine and Builder Custom Home Magazine for achievement in Green Building. He is currently working towards his Certified Passive House Consultant credential. |
